The Story Behind The Wholesale Clothing RegistrySeveral years ago, I was working in retail management, and I decided that I wanted to go into business for myself. I was tired of making someone else rich, and I felt that with my experience, I could prosper in my own business. I had considerable technical knowledge, in addition to my experience in retail management, the Internet was just starting to boom, and eBay was new, uncharted territory. So, I decided to go into the online retail business. I designed an excellent website, I learned how to sell on eBay, and I did all of my research to determine how to position myself with my online clothing competitors. At that point, all I needed was some suppliers. "This shouldn't be too difficult" I thought. On the Internet, everything is just a keystroke away, right? Wrong! At least when it comes to finding real wholesale suppliers. I did searches for wholesale clothing suppliers, wholesale handbags, wholesale shoes, wholesale clothing directory, wholesale distributors, wholesalers, etc. You name it, and I searched for it trying to find suppliers for my business. Unfortunately, no matter what terms I searched, I found the same thing - discount retailers, closeout specialists, or liquidation brokers. I had been in the retail business long enough to know that the only way to make real money is to have real wholesale suppliers, not middlemen masquerading as wholesale suppliers. With hours of time already wasted searching for suppliers, I decided to try my luck at buying lists of suppliers from vendors that I found on the Internet and on eBay. I quickly found out that these sellers were offering no more than the Internet searches provided. All I was getting was lists filled with the same discount suppliers, closeout specialists and liquidation brokers that I had found while searching for wholesale suppliers. After buying about five lists and wasting over $100, I realized that this wasn't the avenue to go down either. My whole experience was very disheartening. I quickly realized that there were hundreds of people out there who didn't care about helping people start their online business. All they cared about was doing very little work in order to cash in on the millions of people who wanted to get into the online retail business. At this point, I decided to do more detailed research. I went to my contacts in the retail industry and asked them where I could find real wholesale suppliers. In talking with them, they reinforced my finding that the Internet is not the place to find wholesale suppliers. Wholesalers, as a rule, don't spend a lot of time advertising publicly because they don't have to. Their customers either find them through industry contacts, or they do targeted marketing toward the retail businesses who they want as customers. If they advertised publicly, they would be bombarded with more inquiries than they could handle. After all, everyone wants to go into business, right? This doesn't mean that they can't be found. It just means that you have to really be serious about starting a business in order to find them. I took the advice of my industry contacts, and I started searching in the right places. After some research, I finally got somewhere! And now, after four years, I have located thousands of REAL wholesale suppliers offering clothes, shoes, handbags, and accessories for women, men, boys, girls, and babies. Out of curiosity, I recently decided to search the Internet again to see if things had changed at all since I first tried searching online for wholesalers four years ago. Not at all surprised, I found that the landscape on the Internet for wholesale suppliers has not changed one bit. The names have changed, the population of vultures has grown, but when searching for wholesale suppliers, you still come across the same types of vendors just trying to cash in on the thousands of people who are eager to go into business online. I've decided that I want to change this, so I've created a wholesale supplier directory that really delivers value for the investment. Most people starting online businesses don't have a lot of money or time to invest, and they certainly don't have money or time to waste. With this in mind, I've built The Wholesale Clothing Registry to provide a vast directory of REAL wholesale suppliers to people who are interested in making money through online retail, traditional retail, or selling on eBay.
